النص من مسؤول بالشركة الكندية:While browsing the internet today, I came across a post
which claimed that the Gulf Cup Soccer championship’s logo was stolen. I got curious and decided to dig deeper. Here are the images and you be the judge.

The logo on the left is the official 18th Gulf Cup logo whereas the one on the right is a logo of “Rising Phoenix” a network solution firm. The logo was designed by LogoBee





The one to the left is the Gulf Cup logo superimposed on Rising Phoenix’s logo.

To be honest, I could not find the website of the aforementioned network company so if anyone else does, please let me know. I am not sure whether this is true or not, certainly the logos look identical. I have contacted LogoBee and a very friendly person, Russell, took the time to write up a statement. Thank you very much Russell. Here is what he had to say

“It had come to our attention that the 18th Gulf Cup Championships were intending to use a logo similar to the Rising Phoenix concept earlier last year. After some contact, we came to the understanding that the logo would be changed. However it doesn’t appear to us that sufficient modifications were made. We’re disappointed by the outcome, but because we pass the rights of the logo over to the client (The Rising Phoenix Group), there is very little that LogoBee can do to pursue the matter.”





Upon further reading, I found out that Mohammed Ibahim Mahmood, Media chief in the Gulf Cup 18, commented on this very issue. Mahmood said that they had asked a company to design a few logos for them. This company, designed the logo with aid from a Canadian company (LogoBee) that displays a similar looking logo on their online portfolio (look at the rising phoenix logo above). بينما تصفح الانترنت اليوم مررت على وظيفة تدعي ان دورة كأس الخليج لكرة القدم الشعار مسروق. اي على الغريب وقررت حفر اكثر عمقا. هنا الصور ولكم ان تحكموا. الشعار على اليسار هو المسؤول شعار كأس الخليج الثامنة عشرة حين واحد على الحق شعار "زيادة فينيكس" شبكة حل الشركة. الشعار الذي صمم من لوغوبي الى اليسار هي الشعار رضه كأس الخليج على زيادة فينيكس للشعار. وللامانة اقول انني لم يجد موقع الشركة المذكورة في شبكة ما اذا كان احد غيري ، ولا اسمحوا لي ان اعرف. لست متأكدا ما اذا كان هذا صحيحا ام لا ، بالتأكيد نظرة شعارات مماثلة. وقد اتصلت لوغوبي ودية جدا شخص قد راسل وقت كتابة البيان. شكرا جزيلا راسل. ومن هنا ما قاله "فقد نمي الى علمنا ان بطولات كأس الخليج الثامنة عشرة كان يعتزم استخدام الشعار الى ارتفاع مماثل في فينيكس مفهوم سابق من العام الماضي. بعد الاتصال ، توصلنا الى تفاهم على ان يتم تغيير الشعار. لكن لا يبدو لنا ان التعديلات التى تكفى. نحن بخيبه أمل من نتائج ، لكن لنعبر حقوق الشعار الى الزبون (تمرد مجموعة فينيكس) فانه لا يمكن ان لوغوبي ذلك لمتابعة الموضوع. "على مواصلة القراءة فوجدت انه محمد ابراهيم محمود ، مدير الاعلام في كأس الخليج 18 ، وعلق على هذه القضية بالذات. محمود انهم طلبوا شركة لتصميم بعض الشعارات لهما. الشركة صمم شعار بمساعدة من شركة كنديه (لوغوبي) عروض مماثلة شعار النظر عن حقيبة على الانترنت (ينظر في زيادة فينيكس الشعار أعلاه). هنا النص الكامل بالعربيه ما محمود قال في حديث :



موضوع الشعار بسيط جدا , نحن كلجنه منظمه للبطولة كلفنا شركة ( دن ) التابعه لدبي القابضه لتقديم مقترحات لشعار البطولة و تم عمل مسابقه بين المصممين المحليين و تم مخاطبه شركات عالميه لتصميم شعار للبطولة و قدموا لنا 10 نماذج للشعار و تم تقليصهم الى 5 و بعدها وقع الإختيار على هذا الشعار. شركه ( دن ) صممت الشعار بالاتفاق مع شركه كنديه تضع نفس الشعار على موقعها بألوان اخرى لذلك بإمكان أي شخص سرقته و بعدها ينسبه الى نفسه

I personally think that what Mahmood has said is utter rubbish. Saying that the Canadian logo design company has posted the logo on their website and that anyone can claim it is so inaccurate and I am surprised that it has come from the Chief of Media who is supposed to be one step ahead of us average viewers on copyright laws and legalizations. Obviously this is not the case. Let me say to Mr. Mahmood that you are talking about Canada here, not UAE, Oman or KSA. This country, like most of the western countries have laws that govern copyrights and if someone uses their logo, they will pursue him no doubt.

I think that using this logo is a very big mistake on the organizing committee’s behalf. How hard is it for a country like UAE, that always takes the lead in designing fancy monuments, to design a logo by themselves without having to revert back to some other company? Why would they use the same logo that another company is using?

I think Russell’s statement clearly shows the Gulf Cup organization committee’s wrong doing. One could only hope that there will be a day when we will be slightly more knowledgeable and better public speakers (or liars).

Finally, I would like to thank Russell from LogoBee for his efforts in clearing this confusion and taking the time to write a statement. Very few people in this day and age will do that upon request from a total stranger

وانا شخصيا اعتقد ان ما قاله هو محمود مطلق القمامه. وقال ان تصميم شعار شركة كنديه قد نشرت الشعار على الانترنت وان أي شخص يستطيع ان يدعي انه هو ذلك غير دقيقة ويدهشني انه اصبح من الرئيس الاعلامي الذي يفترض ان يكون خطوة تنتظرنا متوسط المشاهدين على قوانين حقوق الطبع والتشريع. ومن الواضح أن هذا ليس صحيحا. اسمحوا لي ان اقول للسيد محمود ان تتحدث كندا هنا ، الامارات العربية المتحدة وعمان والمملكه العربية السعودية. هذا البلد ، مثله مثل معظم الدول الغربية القوانين التي تنظم حقوق النشر وإذا عن استخدام شعار وسوف تسعى اليه اي شك. واعتقد ان استخدام هذا الشعار هو خطأ شديد على اللجنة التنظيمية للنيابة. ومن الصعب هو كيف لبلد مثل الامارات دائما زمام المبادرة في رسم المعالم الهوى ، تصميم شعار انفسهم من دون الحاجة الى العودة الى بعض شركات أخرى؟ وماذا سيكون استخدام الشعار ان الشركة تستخدم آخر؟ اعتقد راسل بيان بوضوح اللجنة المنظمه لكأس الخليج في الاثم. ولا يسع المرء الا ان يأمل ان يكون هناك يوم سنكون اكثر بقليل معرفة افضل المتحدثين والجمهور (او كذابون. وأخيرا ، اود ان اشكر راسل من لوغوبي على جهوده في إزالة هذا الخلط وأخذ وقتا للكتابة. عدد قليل جدا من الناس في هذا العصر سوف تفعل ذلك بناء على طلب من مجموعة غريبة
