Test Your Synonyms Contest

Greetings my fellow members

I guess you still have memories lingering in the back of our minds of The Rack your Brains Contest I invented last year, which has seen its share of success and participation

It was such a good thing seeing most of you participate, driven by your eagerness to put your general knowledge to the test. I know Tawash the Brilliant tortured your minds back then, but you can't ignore the fact that he also drove you to participate in order to best him, eh

Too bad your combined might were no match to my BRILLIANCE, probably because it was all female. After all, what harm could a group of females do to a single male, oh dear

Anyway, today I bring you another BRAIN TORTURE, an informational and challenging offering straight from the unchallenged mind; Test Your Synonyms Contest

The purpose of this contest is to test your synonyms; see how good you have been thinking your words are. If you thought you have an encyclopedia of words in your mind, think again after embarking on this contest

For those you might not know what a synonym means; it's a word that has the same meaning of another word. For instance, Exhibit is a synonym of Show, both have the same meaning; almost the same meaning

Now that I introduced the Test your Synonyms Contest, let me detail its rules and violations

Rules

One) I will post a word, that word is called The Original Word; while contestants have to post another word to solve my word, which is called The Synonymous Word, or simply the Synonym

Two) I will begin the contest by posting an original word and contestants have to post synonyms using the last letter in the original word. For instance, if the original word is Atmosphere, then its synonym should start with 'e', such as Environment. Is it clear

Three) Some words have more than one meanins, often different. Thus, if you post words without giving others their intended meanings it would make it quite difficult to the contestants to figure them out

For instance, the word Develop has three dissimilar meanings

A) It means growth, as well as when something starts or happens
B) It's also used to indicate someone catching some kind of a disease, like saying He developed fever
C) This is a technical meaning pertaining to films, when we say To develop films it means obtaining pictures out of the negatives

So, as you can see you DO need to specifiy to the other contestants your intended meaning when posting the original words for them to be able to figure them out properly

Four) Contestants only have 24 hours to figure out the synonym of the original word

Five) Points are earned in two ways

A) When a contestant figures out the synonym of the original word

B) When 24 hours pass with all contestants failing to figure out the synonym to the original word, leading to the main contestant winning the point

Six) When a contestant figures out the synonym of the original word, he wins a point and posts another original word. In the same manner, if all contestants fail to figure out the synonym of the original word within 24 hours, the original contestant wins a point and posts another original word, and so

Seven) The contest concludes when a contestant gets 10 points. The top three scorers will be announced winners and will receive points and achievement awards from the Operators of the English Forum

Now shall we move to the violation section

Violations

One) Contestants are not allowed to repeat words, either original or their synonyms. Thus, contestants should make sure that their words are new; otherwise they will lose a point every time they post a repeated word

Two) Contestants must make sure that the original words they post have synonyms starting with the last letter of the original word; when other contestants fail to figure out a synonym of the original word, the original contestants will be required to post the synonym they had in mind when putting the original word

Three) If they fail to do so they will lose a point every time they post a word that has no synonym starting with the last letter of the original word as per the rules

Four) Synonyms have to be well cited, hence, original contestants have to produce their citing when other contestants fail to find synonyms of the original word

i'm waiting this to begin, so i can particpite. i hope this time i can answer a lot of questions

so i'll be the winner, but you didn't meantion a reward for the winner and has a lot of point

And i have another thing that if you can make it more than 25 hours and half loool

it'll be better

Good to know that you will feel like clashing with Mr.Brilliant, wish you all the best, but don't put too much hope on winning, because nobody could win when Tawash the Brillaint steps in any contest

As for the prize, they are two

And as for timing, I thingk 24 hours are enough; all you need to do is figure out a word bundy guy, unlike Rack your Brain Contest where you were required to figure out a whole sentence for the answer

I think it's enough, unless the rest of the Supervisors and Operators think otherwise

Better pluck so much energy for the contest manno, eh
