What would you have done
My cousin told me this story long time ago, and I wrote it down in my book collection. Yesterday while going through my book, I stopped by this one story that I thought it would be interesting to share, some of you might have had read it before but I thought I’ll share it to benefit from its essence. A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of a big airport…………… As she had to wait for hours, she decided to buy a book and to spend time. She bought, a packet of cookies too. She sat down on an armchair, in the VIP room of the airport, to rest and read in peace. Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies were kept, a man sat down, opened his magazine and started reading. When she ate the first cookie, the man took one also she felt infuriated but didn’t say anything. She just thought………. What a nerve! If I was in the mood I would punch his eye so that he does not forget this daring!’’ To each cookie she ate, the man ate another one. That was letting her fume up with rage but she couldn’t react. When only one cookie remained she thought: Ah…….. What will this abused man do now?’’ Then the man divided the last cookie through the middle, giving her the other half. Ah! ……. That was too much! She was too angry! Then she caught her book, caught her things and headed to the boarding place. When she sat dawn on her seat inside the plane, she looked into her purse to take her eye glasses, and for her surprise, her packet of cookies was there untouched, closed! She felt so ashamed!! She realized that she was the wrong one……….. She had forgotten that her cookies were kept in her purse. He divided his cookies with her, without feeling infuriated, nervous or mad…….. While she was very mad thinking that he was dividing her cookies………. And there was no more time to explain herself…. Nor to apologize!’ There are 4 things that you can’t recover……… The stone…….. …. After shot! The word…. ….after pronounced! The occasion… ….after lost! The time…. ….. After gone! |

السلام عليكم maby I would ask him ,do you like it? just to make him ashame,and when I realize that I am the mistaken person I will apolagize  and change my place with any excuse. |

I read this story in arabic...it sounded a lot better in english  It was too late for her to do anything, she already boarded the plane situations like these ones, will be unforgetable, it will last her a life time to try to forget what would i do since i thought these were my cookies and i'm sharing them with the " rude man" when really they're his cookies, i would let him have them, get up and go to sit somewhere else, rather than racing him by eating the whole pack. Then when i board the plane and see my pack of cookies still in my purse, i wouldn't feel half of the guilt that i would have felt if i did what she did but we never know what our reaction will be like when put in any situation dont be surprised if you acted like her Nice story thank you for sharing

To sister Jana I'm glad you liked the story as I did and yes sometimes things in english do sound better than in Arabic it's kind of weird  |
