Our generation is better than your generation

Sometimes

You hear from someone in the age of our parents here and there says: Our generation is better your generation

What do you think
?

We know that Our generation has a different lifestyle than the generation of our parents or we can say previous generation

That doesn't mean they are better than us

So

What do you think guys

Do you think that can be right

I understand what you are driving at dear Bravy, and, surprisingly, I say the same thing about the younger generation

When I look at teenagers today and compare their case with my own, I feel 'sorry', and deem them 'spoiled brats' and other things

Why would you be surprised if our elders, fathers, uncles and grandfathers would think differently

I think the reason for that is time itself

I mean, in 50s, 60s and 70s, life was simple, yet difficult. It was simple in the sense that there were no too many 'distractions' and 'comfort', thus our elders were more dependent on their skills, and themselves

However, today we have too many modernization, everything has become so much easier than it was before. In essence, when our fathers see us enjoying today's comforts, they smile mockingly and say that we haven't seen the hardships of life, and that we are spoiled brats, exactly like what I'm saying now about the younger generation

So, it's not about who is right. If you think about it, our elders are 'right', we are also 'right', twenty years later when the younger generations we deem 'spoiled' will also look into the then younger generation mockingly

In this cycle, none of the above-mentioned generations are 'wrong', it's just a matter of time. In the old times, the technology was minimum, twenty years later technology was more abundant, and, thus, many years later technology will render the impossible possible

At the end and to answer your question, I think everyone is right and everyone is wrong at the same time. They are right when they express their distaste at the comfort level of the following generation and not having experienced the hardships they themselves faced, and they are wrong when they don't see beyond the bigger picture, that it's not the fault of the younger generation to have a more comfortable lifestyle than they had, it's all due to time

And since time is not static, generations are bound to be different from each other, sometimes slightly and often drastically

If you look at it from a philosophical perspective you might agree with me, otherwise you would think I'm mad, but this is my opinion

our parents say this becouse they live in two generation ,
and they Compare between the two generation

hey brother bravey i'm back

well, it might be true because every generation has its values and aims in the life

when i was teenager and still but i mean since i came to US in early time

many things i discovered they're wrong and we as arabs or khialji people agree on it

for example when i went back home in xams 06 it was eid time so i went with my family

for shopping and oh my god ... i was really shocked

i wondered why i didn't say they were wrong before?!!! is it because i saw women here

or or or ... till know i didn't find any answer.

I think the young generation ( guys and girls) trying to take the good customs out

and be like western... like when i see some arab people their " underware " is out for

others

and the jeans is ... i dont know

in my opinion this is wrong but i dont know... i think arab and muslims are getting wrose

while they taking bad thing from the western culture and forget to take good ones

that's what i have so far brother

By the way

We used to hear dirty words about our generation from our teachers in the school

The used to tell us such words like; failure, hopeless and underdeveloped

Today I discovered that the opposite is the right

blind following of bad western customs are another case

We will put it beside

Let us compare between them and us when they were in our age

Did they were in the same thought what they are know

??

Absolutely NOT

When they compare between them and us

They should keep in mind the age difference

In the other hand

People who follows bad western customs

We can count them on the fingers of one hand

Their family didn't show him the right way

Nobody guide them to the right way

So, they just following anyone without knowing if that is bad or good

At last We ask our God Allah to show all the Muslims the right way

I think brother Tawwash did an amazing job pin pointing to the core of the dispute
between the two generations.

As Tawwash stated presviously, I think that the gab existing between the two
generations is mainly due to availability of resources. Today we have many resources
especially technological ones that my parents when growing up had no access to them
