Salam alukiem everyone. Good morning/ Good afternoon/ Good evening. The supervisors of English section suggested that we would like to do something special in this holy month. We would like to share your stories that happened in Ramadan. For example, when did you start to fast and did you cheat in the first 2 or 3 days?
What is your schedule in Ramadan and do you watch T.V. and which programs you watch usually? How do you feel about Ramadan this year and the pervious years…?

Just tell us about the story and tell us a funny story so we will get to know each other more than now.

Oh boy, Ramadan has come at last

Thank you bundy for coming up with this fine subject

Well, why don't I start since I'm your big bro, eh

I remember that when I was younger, say about 10 years ago, or probably younger- can't remember really-I competed with a homeboy to fast for that Ramadan, but we ended up breaking our fasting on some delicious fruit hanging on our neighbour's garden

Actually, it was not hanging out of his house's wall, we technically jumped his wall and 'stole' the irresistable fruit

But next year, we decided that it would be about time we fasted, and we managed actually; you could imagine how difficult we tried not to break our fast, especially when we had someone older watching for us

Whenever I remember those incidents, I smile with embarrassment

But really, Ramadan now is never like it was 10 or 15 years ago, it lost its touch within our hearts

I don't want to talk about that here, I would probably open a discussion topic on that, but later

first of all congratulation all for Ramadan

I remember when I fasted first time, I was in second grade as I remember. It was really hard for a child to fast, but I was determined to fast all the days. The funniest thing as I remember, before the prayer of Magreb, every day,, I sat on our home court, or old house , beside one palm and I cried so much,, because of hunger! and my mother was shouting at me asking me to eat or drink any thing,, but I was refusing

Really when I remember these days,, I laughed so much..

oh my bro. you were a herrbile boy before... but it was nice to let the mind think

because usually the mind shut down in the fasting period

i agree with you that now Ramadan isn't like before and we don't feel it

maybe because we still watching tv and they're more and more of them in the way

i don't know really... but hope to see you again here bro.

salam alukiem... umm i'll share with you my stroies.

i remember the first ramadan away from my family and my home was in 2006

we got 2 apartments and we were 5 and sometimes our friend from another apartment

came with us. anyways, we weren't a good cook at that time ( and for me i'm still not a good

one )

you can't imagain the mess that we did but we tired to eat and make everything

usually we call our moms ( may Allah bless everyone's mom) and tell them how to do this

and that. In one day, they said i made لقيمات

it was huge like a cake lol .. they were laughing about it and me too

but my friend said what's this... you're not a good cook. i said am i? ok don't eat

from it

but he said sorry and i let him eat from it

<< i have a big heart

really it was fun and whenever we remembered it , we laughed a lot

24th of Ramadan 1428 was the worst EVER

It was my last day home

I was thinking

: how can I walk away when my heart wants to stay especially in these holly days?? The answer was because I have to

I wasn’t ready to fly 36 hours. I wasn’t ready to arrive in a foreign country. I wasn’t ready to step on the plane to New Zealand. My tears were coming and going. The more I thought about the more I started to cry. I was wishing I had never decided to leave, but I know in retrospect that I'm being stupid because this is a good experience for me

My first stop was in Dubai

. Before landing the air host staffs were busy with distributing their tasteless food

One of them said while giving me the meal: Ha baba

!! do not eat it now, you suppose to be fasting right? So, after the prayer of Maghreb do whatever you want with it. Understood

And I was like: huh, are you talking to me?!!

Am 18

The trip continued to Bangkok. It was horrible; most of the passengers were Muslims and Arabs. But, unfortunately they were DRUNK

. They missed the whole point of Ramadan

Finally, in New Zealand after more than 40 hours moving from airport to another!! Where another story began

I will come back later to complete it
