Ramadan Photo Competition

Dear members of the English Forum

First of all, Ramadan Kareem

We, Supervisors of the English Forum, realize that some forums become slack during Ramadan, but this won't be the case with our forum, because we've spent countless hours in preparation for an exciting program for you during the holy month

Since Ramadan captures the spirit of traditions, closeness with our loved ones and exhibitions of many customs that are becoming increasingly deserted in our societies, we've decided to capitalize on that concept to devise an exciting competition

The competition would be exciting, yet very simple and straightforward

All you need to do is capture the spirit of traditions, cultures and customs of Ramadan in pictures. Then go through the pictures you've taken and select the best one that you feel captures the spirit of traditions, cultures and customs of Ramadan in your country. After that, upload the picture in the forum with a little description to enter the competition. And that's about it

See how simple it could be? all you have to do is capture your precious moments of Ramadan in a picture and upload it in the forum

However, there has to be some rules to govern the competition, isn't it? Which aren't as complicated as you think, and are as follows

One) Pictures uploaded should not violate the forum's rules on uploading pictures. To go through the forum rules, visit the following link (check point.17): منتديات ألم الإمارات

Two) Each member can enter the competition with one picture only, so choose the best one from your possibilities carefully

Three) Digital pictures are not accepted; you have to take the pictures using the conventional cameras, and make sure they show the date (and time if possible) of the picture taken. Then scan the pictures and upload the scanned images

This is just to insure that the pictures are genuine and are yours, not someone else's picture you've copied from another website. So, if we discovered any cheating from any member, he/she would be disqualified from the competition. This is the month of Ramadan, so let's play the game fairly and honestly

Four) Pictures modified through image editing programs such as Photoshop are not accepted; we want you to compete with others through your original work

Five) Pictures uploaded should have a short description with them, explaining how it captures the spirit of Ramadan in the competitor's country. Pictures without descriptions will not be accepted and will lose the chance to qualify for the final voting process. However, we will grant the competitor a chance to upload a different well-described picture

Six) Participation in the competition opens once we enter Ramadan and closes on 20th night at 12am, after which the pictures will enter a public vote by other members of the forum during the last 10 days of Ramadan to determine the best well-described three pictures that capture the traditions, cultures and customs of Ramadan

Seven) The First three winners will be awarded points and certificates, as follows

First = 100,000 points
Second = 75,000 points
Third = 50,000 points

Eight) This competition is open for everyone (including Supervisors of the English Forum); however those choose to join cannot participate in the public voting later on

Nine) The public voting mechanism will be decided and announced before the 20th of Ramadan, and it will include as much members as possible from all forums of AlamUAE
